Andrew grew up on Orcas Island, graduating from Orcas Island High School in 1988. He earned his B.S. in Psychology at the University of Washington and his M.S. in Exercise Science at Western Washington University. He was a varsity oarsman at the University of Washington and later coached crew at Western Washington University. He was awarded his B.S. degree in Physical Therapy at the University of Washington in 1998.

After working for Swedish Medical Center, Providence Campus, for three and a half years, Andrew returned to Orcas Island to manage the Physical Therapy practice at the medical center as an Island Hospital employee. In June, 2004, he assumed ownership of Orcas Island Physical Therapy, PLLC. Andrew has strong interests in the treatment of sports injuries and orthopedic conditions.
